Description

Nearly 30 years after the end of the Vietnam War, Dave Powell encounters a vet who can help him finally unravel what happened to his high-school friend. A young lieutenant who was killed in the fall of '68, his friend wrote letters from Vietnam that make Dave suspect that other officers may have set his friend up to be killed because of an incident that threatened their careers. But suspicion is not proof, so Dave has never been able to get an official investigation started. Now, though, armed with new insights and details supplied by this vet, Dave manages to track down more former members of his friend's platoon. When most of them are reluctant to talk, Dave seeks the FBI's assistance. Eventually he identifies several men who may be guilty. Yet a long-delayed search for what might - or might not - be justice is unlikely to have a simple outcome. Not all of war's tragedies are confined to battlefields.
