Description
Local Foreigner is a collection of poems exploring the idea of home and our search to belong somewhere. Written from the perspective of a Swiss-Lebanese immigrant. The poems look at boundaries set by nationality and the struggle to move beyond the, while trying to make sense of the attachments we develop to one place over another in spite of the faults rooted in a country's society and politics.
Following a metaphorical progression from birth to death, the book questions personal identity in an area defined by past and present conflict in an attempt to resolve the issue of how close home can be if there appears to be no hope of return.
