However, she finds herself stranded in Jackson, Mississippi when her car breaks down. The local mechanic tells her it will be at least three weeks before her car can be repaired. To jumpstart her new life, she soon takes a job working at a nearby restaurant to earn some money. As Johnnie settles into her new routine, she meets a handsome evangelist named Paul Masterson.
