Kjartan and Bolli are two lads who are close friends but they both love Guðrún which causes hatred between them and results in tragedy. Numerous ancient manuscripts contain this saga, dating back to the fourteenth century and it is second only to the Njáls saga in the number of medieval manuscripts preserved.
