Description

The last 25 years have been marked by a very rapid evolution of communication means and tools, research and gene therapy, cyber-science, innovations in urban mobility and technological knowledge (especially nanotechnology). Law, as the superstructural platform of society and culture, could keep up with the introduction of the new until the middle of the last century, with inevitable small delays. But the breathtaking pace of scientific and technological development in recent decades has far outstripped the pace of legal responses in its three main dimensions: legislation, doctrine and jurisprudence. In the paper presented here, we seek to highlight some of these challenges of progress, focusing on directions for more rapid adaptation of the law to problems not recently considered. But this is only a cautious approach, given that at any given moment, other interesting provocations have arisen.
