It is the last Monday of the school year, and fourteen-year-old Jade Baker, could not be more excited. Besides it being a three day week, it is also her last day at Brunson Junior High School. Besides saying good bye to the eighth grade, Jade will also be saying goodbye to the bullying and torment that she endured the last three years. At this point, it is only natural that Jade thinks nothing could rain on her parade. However, things are not always as they seem. During lunch, Jade is attacked by her boyfriend and some of his teammates from the football team. The injuries are so bad, that they land Jade in the hospital.
