Description
Develop the critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills needed to excel in your classes and in the field
Integrated Critical Thinking and Reasoning in Pharmacy Practice was designed to help you develop necessary problem-solving skills to succeed in pharmacy courses and in practice. Though the elements, standards, and virtues of critical thinking will be applied in this text primarily to patient care, they are universal to thinking well in all pharmacy courses, all of pharmacy practice, all of healthcare, and all of life.
The book begins with chapters on the fundamentals of critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and the Pharmacist's Patient Care Process (PCP). In subsequent chapters, these skills will be integrated in practical, case-based exercises that will help cultivate skill development. Among the exercises that will be employed to cultivate the skills will be PPCP form-completion, Socratic questioning, sentence-completion exercises, and mapping.
- The Pharmacists' Patient Care Process (PPCP) is the primary clinical problem-solving process being promoted in pharmacy colleges and by all of the major pharmacy organizations.
- Text provides you with the knowledge needed to provide optimal patient-centered care to patients in all pharmacy practice settings.
- Includes outlines of critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and the PPCP; glossaries of key concepts, patient cases and clinical dilemmas; "Thinking in Action" clinical vignettes; graphic organizers using scaffolding to aid in skill development; worksheets and performance assessment tools; and more.
