The author has a wry way with vernacular English prose, and his characterizations allows the reader to "know" the many people that Tony comes in contact with........... Tami C. IN ONE HAND is a story depicting a man's hardships in life when someone or something he learns to love is given to him and then almost as quickly, gets taken away. The story takes place in an era of inquiry and surprise, the 1960's, which is exactly what this book has to entail. The author will keep you guessing and in shock to the very last page. He is able to capture you in the story and embrace you with the details and emotions of the main character's life; never to forget that life is what you make it and sometimes that isn't enough. The characters sketch themselves before the reader's very eyes to convey a sense of understanding of the main character. Overall, I adored the book and couldn't help but fall under enchantment with the blessings and unfortunate happenings to Tony Sardelli....... Lauren P.
