Description

"This beautiful collection rests on a balanced expression of human experience and divine mystery. Each poem is compelling in its own right; packaged together, they offer a powerful and intentional narrative. Celia Jaipaul knows how to capture real challenges and sorrows, all the while calling forth God's pardoning grace and persistent love."

- Sara Dorow, Professor of Sociology, University of Alberta

The poems in this collection were inspired by deep, personal feelings and experiences. They explore themes that are familiar to all of us: baptism, parental presence and guidance, old age, the need for personal and world peace, belonging, preservation, and God's grace and forgiveness. They show we are not alone and weave us together as one people of God.

Celia Jaipaul grew up in a Christian home, and involvement in the church community has always been an integral part of her life. These poems reflect her faith journey and her belief in the divine power of God guiding her path. God is a friend to whom we can take our griefs and cares as well as our gratitude for his wonderful blessings.

Celia Jaipaul graduated from University of Alberta with a bachelor of arts in English and a master's degree in Education. She has had an extensive professional career promoting language and literacy development for families.

She lives in Edmonton, Alberta with her husband. She has two married children and two grandsons.
