Description
Follow the stories of 81 U.S. military veterans who served during World War II and beyond. These veterans all took the same Honor Flight from Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Washington, D.C., in May 2015, and shared their stories with interviewers from the Grand Valley State University Veterans History Project. Some of them saw intense combat, others did not, but all served honorably when called. Their individual stories are full of details that tend not to make it into most history books, and ones that teach us much about life in the service, and about the sacrifices that so many young had to make when called upon by their country.
