Description

The Devonshire village of Woodfield Magna, like so many in England, is decaying. The young, seeking work and affordable housing, are moving away. The remaining residents are mainly elderly and are confronted by age, a disinterested Member of Parliament and government-imposed austerity. Efforts to publicise the plight of the village, in a television documentary, reveal a government plot to curb free speech. One resident needs an operation but the NHS cannot help for some time and he cannot afford to use the private sector as his pension is lower than anticipated because of the suspect action of his former employer, dubbed the ugly face of capitalism. How can he and his two friends seek revenge? Suddenly, an opportunity arises and the trio plan an imaginative and unlikely adventure which ultimately captures the attention of the government and nation.
