Much effort has been devoted to accessing primary and secondary sources of information. These include previously unpublished experiences of combatants representing the Brigade of Gurkhas, their Argentine opponents and a Scots Guardsman. The result is a forensic and realistically jarring story in which effective leadership in an artillery-dominated battlefield environment was a decisive factor for final success.
