Most of the names in this book are actually taken from the era between 1859 and 1880 and depict the actual events through their own personal experiences. John served in the Eighty-Fourth Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment Company B, and Rebecca continued their efforts in keeping the Underground Railroad active throughout their time apart.
