Description
The fictional stories in this book were inspired by the author's observations of Goldy, a male gold dust day gecko, his family and actual events as they stayed in a Honolulu townhouse for a few years. Goldy, as the narrator, shares a brief history of geckos in Hawaii and describes his family members. When his parents permanently leave the townhouse, he ponders his father's explanation that this is part of "the circle of life." Goldy chirps about his loneliness and a female gecko, Shortie, hears him. They become friends when he encourages her as she faces a challenge of her own. After a major conflict and learning some lessons, Goldy realizes that his father's words about "the circle of life" have come to fruition.
