Later he is transferred to Cilurnum fort near Corbridge, which is overcome by the Picts. Germanus escapes, and in the chaos he finds Juliona again. They marry, but Juliona is killed during the Picts' withdrawal, and Germanus overcome with grief, finally leaves Britain.
