Description

Four books in one! It's your lucky day.Too many people don't like to read, and too many can't do it well. The world is changing, into a place where our vacant faces stare into the bright glow of some computer screen, always close, in our purse or pocket, waiting for our return, to what is too often useless, stupid, and, at best, only mildly amusing. We are losing books, forgetting them, replacing them with things lesser. As we lose books, we lose ourselves. The tipping point has most likely passed. Generally, our youth have already forgotten books, having never really known them. We may recover, but it is unlikely, we are entering a new world, one without books. We will have words, delivered electronically, without a soul, intangible, but they are not books. This future is a frightening world of group-think, sound bites, and media manipulation, where we might lose not only our souls, but our country. I offer this one up, a book, big, fat, tangible, made of paper, as a reminder, for posterity.
