Darcy's desire to explore the Appalachian region of the country took a drastic turn when she came upon the sign, "Cool Water Springs, Not Gone Just Forgotten," her curiosity lead her down Black Mountain Road to a small dying town stretching to the North and the South along the base of the mountains. The town's decaying economy and the malignant poverty has stripped the people of their last glimmer of hope. The fear of their hopelessness was etched on their faces and carried on their slumping shoulders. In order for Darcy to help them she must win their trust. She must make them see that it is her compassion not her money that draws her to them. Doug an unemployed accountant, is curious as to why a woman driving a vehicle worth more than any house in the town is hanging around. Their compassion for the people draws them into a romantic relationship. As the people work together and see their dreams take shape they are renewed and believe in themselves. The people of Cool Water Springs are celebrating Christmas in a very special way this year. They are filled with hope and expectation for a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year.
