Then, he realized that he was a very prideful person and had been living his life to please only himself and not the Lord. He teaches the reader that we as Christians have a false perception that God wants to make us look good and this is a fallacy. The truth is that our virtues, gifts and talents have been given to us by God to glorify Himself. Not us. Once we understand this, then we can truly live in such a way to bring glory to God which in turn brings us much freedom and joy.
