Description

This book was written to inspire others to help in our community. Dee shares her inspirational story of starting a now thriving nonprofit organization. She started the Lend A Hand Foundation with little or no funds in 1997 in order to provide as many services as possible to low income children and youth, with a special focus on children and youth in transitional housing facilities. Many fish fries, raffles, and other fundraising activities were held to meet the goals of the organization. The first Mission of Love provided over 100 youth at the Henry Robinson Multi-service Center with Easter Baskets that she and other volunteers prepared. Today the organization has grown to a nine member board of directors with seven advisory board members and many volunteers. Join Dee on her journey of the challenges she faced. But as she says, "We should forge ahead, give thanks, and continue to spread as much joy as possible. Don't give up. Stay focused. Keep your head up. And Trust in our Lord and Savior."
