Emerging to a landscape that bears little resemblance to a world that aggravated him, the idea of having this ravaged version of England to himself - even if it is a barren wasteland - initially seems like a dream come true. In a twisted way the end of the world initially was probably the best thing to ever happen to the recluse. That is, until he realises that it's not only him that has survived to see this apocalyptic new world, but the people responsible for it. Travelling throughout the destroyed wasteland he now calls home, Jack comes into contact with more than he ever bargained for, and gains a sense of responsibility that he thought he was finally free from once and for all.
