Well, Emily's journal is where she tried to write about her past and explain her decision of death to her family and other people who are interested in her life, although there are probably very few of those. She writes her feelings, and all her bad or good experiences in it. She wonders if there are people around her who has similar situation with her or who actually understand her pain, so she decides to have her story publish.
