Description
Delores tells the story of an idealistic black teenager coming of age in white, industrial Sheffield during the decade of change and awakening - the 1960s. Desperate to meet her estranged father, to fall in love and to be accepted - or at the very least ignored - by the white community around her, Delores stumbles through her teenaged years in ignorance and awe. We share her first bittersweet experiences of love - and, of course, rejection - and feel her pain during those all too common cringe-worthy adolescent moments. Set against the backdrop of contemporary social issues, 'Delores' is both the history of a time and of the young adult in all of us.
