Description
Daughter of Salt is, more than anything, a coming of age story next to the ocean, where Craig recounts girlhood in the sun, girlhood in a sleepy town, girlhood with hair knotted from the dry grip of sea water. Maybe this collection has me thinking of Santa Cruz, but if I could compare these poems to anything it would be a wooden rollercoaster - blissfully nostalgic & terrifying all at once - gripping a reader by the chest, jolting them up into the sky for a moment of peace, and then slamming them back down to earth. - Olivia Gatwood, author of Life of the Party
