It is wild, uneducated, nasty and mean. The novel also pokes fun at the reviews for over the top praise for good writing that inevitably accompany new fiction releases. Some examples of this absurd gratuitous praise reviewing are included as a component of the novel itself. In tandem with this, the body text of the novel comprises ridiculously bad writing, cocking a snook at the often very ordinary prose that is published to lavish acclaim.
