Living in a world made up of contradictions, in ideals and actions, I decided to poetically explore conflicting concepts such as love and hate, arrogance and humility and how they interconnect. I experience and witness contradictions everyday, expressing faith while living in fear, or seeing despair and hope in the same situation. Through the pages of contra / diction I take the reader through life as I see it, a series of choices (good, bad and just necessary), and of course contradicting thoughts. Through personal testimony, putting myself in the shoes of another, and challenging myself as well as the reader I hope to use humor, reflection, and plain ole truth to explore the complexities of life, but most of all its simplicities. It is a fact that honesty can be offensive, but in a society where truth is often contraband, I offer contra / diction as an attempt to break the cycle of thought prohibition.
