Description

David Wagner has been a practicing Architect in Charlotte, NC for over 50 years. His body of design work consists of projects well recognized in the city and region. He is the father of four. Recently, he has chosen to step away from practice and devote more time to other interests. An avocational artist for a number of years he has endeavored to infuse art in the numerous projects he has designed. His website, themeanderingline.com, illustrates his artistic production. He has taken a circuitous route to writing often creating editorial content as well as expository writing. This initial book of poetry emerged from his participation in a poetry reading group. His writing is decidedly contemporary, and not so much reactionary as observational. Interested in the ordinary as well as the newsworthy, he draws on the human consequence and condition. He attempts to combine wit with insight, without serious moral reflection. Ideas emerge from things as simple as a morning walk to our collective anguish over the state of the world. After joining the poetry group and reciting poems and poets he chose to begin to write his own poetry. This seeming act of daring has been both well received and encouraged.
