At age eighty-four, Jacob developed progressive dementia and was transferred to an assisted living facility. Thoughts of end of life, pain, suffering, and lack of dignity befall, and he was preoccupied with thoughts of euthanasia. His confidant and assistant, an RN with training in elderly care, had some different thoughts.
