Dân takes a systematic approach to pertinent international politics, providing a historiography and assessing the effects of events such as the Cold War and the Second World War, paying special attention to the impact of the Second World War on the British version of the domino theory. Dân focuses particularly on South East Asia, and applies a thorough analysis of the pitched Battle of Dien Bien Phu, which took place during the last year of Churchill's office. Churchill's wartime helmsmanship is revisited in order to gain pertinent and further light on his post-war administration. Lastly, this study is a firm contribution to understanding the history of globalization in Eastern Asia and the Far East.
