There is currently no agreement as to the sequence of third dynasty pharaohs, the number of pharaohs, or indeed their names. Estimates of the length of the dynasty range from 50 to 100 years. Among other conlcusions Ilaria Incordino identifies Sanakht as the founder of the dynasty, and also attempts some reconsttruction of his reign.
