Description
Each person, whether religious or not, has a worldview. This fact leads to inevitable differences and to the issue of worldview analysis. For Christians, it is vital to realize that apologetics must occur at the worldview level. Among Evangelicals, there are two prominent methodologies of worldview analysis: transcendental and abductive. Both methodologies point to universal human phenomena such as morality and rationality in their approach. While abductive proponents argue that the Christian worldview is the best explanation for such phenomena, transcendental proponents make the stronger claim that it is a necessary precondition. After establishing that abductive methodology is superior, this book also contends that it is bolstered with a proper framework, namely the essential, biblical contours of redemptive history: the creation-fall-redemption matrix. These biblical epochs carry global significance, touching upon humanity's core existential issues--our origins, predicament, and hope for a remedy. This study applies this matrix to the worldviews undergirding Buddhism and Islam. This book will prove useful for those interested in apologetics, comparative religion and worldviews.
