White summarizes a major segment of liturgical history (1955-1995). White (1932-2004), who was Professor Emeritus of Liturgical Studies at the University of Notre Dame, devoted his professional life to teaching liturgy and equipping others for this ministry. He was intensely involved in liturgical reform and authored sixteen other books on liturgy.
