Description

Reflecting on solutions that in some way address the reality of child labour in the Amazon implies, above all, discussing the urgency of a public policy that redistributes income more fairly, promoting the necessary structural reforms and implementing assistance programmes that offer conditions for families in extreme poverty to achieve decent living conditions (ILO, 2001). The study began with an understanding of the problem of child labour and its characterisation in the Amazon, specifically in the state of Pará, in the municipality of Cametá (PA). From this context, we discussed the role that labour plays in society, taking a look back from the origins of humanity to the present day. And we end the study by demonstrating the implications of child labour for the teaching and learning process, as it is an element that prevents children and adolescents from having access to education in the rural communities of this region.
