St. John Greer Ervine (1883-1971) was an Irish author, writer, critic and dramatist. He wrote the plays Anthony and Anna in 1926 and The First Mrs. Fraser in 1929. He was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland but moved to London while in his teens. Among his other works: God's Soldier (1934), Robert's Wife (1938), Craigavon, Ulsterman (1945), Private Enterprise (1948), Oscar Wilde (1951), My Brother Tom (1952) and Bernard Shaw: His Life, Work and Friends (1956).
