Description
Centered Living/Centered Leading: The Way of Light and Love is an adaptation of the Tao Te Ching designed to help Christ-Followers live and lead wisely. The book consists of a Preface and Introduction to the Tao Te Ching, followed by an Adaptation of the Tao Te Ching for Christians with a brief Commentary on each of its eighty-one chapters. Leaders in government, industry, and non-profit organizations are bombarded with advice concerning how to become better leaders. Much of this advice draws on Western, secular leadership theory. There is nothing wrong with this approach. Yet, Christian leaders cannot forget that their success will be more affected by who they are than by techniques of leadership theory. In this book, Chris Scruggs explores the application of Eastern Wisdom to Christian leadership, adapting the wisdom of the Tao Te Ching for Christian leaders, concentrating on the spiritual and moral character of Christian leadership, indeed of leadership generally.
