Description

This study describes the perceptions and strategies of Central African farmers in the face of the effects of climate change. It is based on a qualitative approach using semi-structured interviews and focus groups to understand how environmental variations affect the daily lives of the people of Bouca. The results showed that farmers clearly perceive changes through climatic parameters such as rainfall and temperature. This is the collection and description of farmers' perceptions and strategies of the population of Bouca. The results reveal that farmers perceive and experience the effects of climate change with the consequences of profound socio-economic upheavals over the last fifteen years, the late start of the two rainy seasons, the early cessation of rains at the end of the two seasons, the concentration of heavy rains over short periods during the rainy seasons, pockets of drought during the two rainy seasons, the increase in heat, and the occurrence of violent winds during the main rainy season.
