Description

Follow twin leopards Leo and LaLa on their journey to help Levi leopard change his spots (heart). This adorable story helps promote kindness, teaches kids how to be a good friend, and how helping others can make a positive difference in people's lives. This book also helps children learn strategies to use when "leopard cubs" are unable to change their spots. It is my pleasure to write a book that allows children to discuss conflict resolutions in a fun way with parents/guardians, grandparents, regular education teachers, special education teachers, paraprofessionals, art teachers, music teachers, and librarians. I wrote this book for counselors, behaviorists, behavior technicians, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to utilize during individual and co-treatment therapy sessions and social skills lessons as well. This inclusive book was created in order for the reader to not only experience a heart-warming story with a valuable life lesson, but also provides learning connections and activities readily available after the story. The follow-up questions and activities focus on answering "wh" questions, multiple meanings, synonyms, antonyms, sequencing information, syntax practice, understanding vocabulary, prepositions, pragmatic language, figurative language, and character education. Speech/language pathologists can also work on fluency and articulation while students read this story and complete these activities as well. The follow-up learning activities also include ideas for art projects, a music/movement song for younger children, music activities for older children, and cooking fun with sensory activities!
