It is based on a healthy lifestyle, physical therapy and devices. Surgery is considered only for painful and unsightly kyphosis at the end of growth or after failure of orthopaedic treatment. Conclusions: Surgical treatment of Scheuermann's disease is difficult, fraught with morbidity and should only be considered in exceptional cases after failure of orthopaedic treatment.
