Breast cancer is the greatest cause of mortality among women in Brazil. Its treatment causes several impacts and physical therapy prevents and treats possible post-mastectomy complications. Virtual reality (VR) is a new resource that makes therapy playful, dynamic and motivational. The objective of this study was to verify the effects of rehabilitation with the use of VR in mastectomized patients. A systematic review was conducted using the following health descriptors: mastectomy, virtual reality and rehabilitation, in the databases: PubMed, Web of Scien-ce, LILACS and SciELO. Included were articles published from 2006 to 2016, totaling 118 publications. Were excluded articles that used the terms: breast cancer detection, male breast cancer, prophylactic mastectomy, literature reviews and study that abor-dassem surgical techniques, remaining in the sample 38 articles. It is concluded, then, that the current VR in the rehabilitation of mastectomized patients improving range of motion, muscle strength and pain.
