Description

In this monograph, Wilmer Estrada-Carrasquillo proposes a constructive, lived Pentecostal ecclesiology. Grounded in his own life experience growing up in a Pentecostal community of faith in Puerto Rico, Estrada-Carrasquillo introduces the readers to his distinctive methodological approach by placing his Pentecostal identity, his contextual location, and public theology into what he calls a trialectical conversation. Anchoring his work in a Pentecostal reading of Ezekiel 47.1-12, the author identifies a living ecclesiology that informs the remainder of his study. His approach is further informed by examining the methodological approaches utilized by three Latin American theologians working within the Pentecostal tradition: Agustina Luvis Núñez, Eldin Villafañe, and Darío López. Estrada-Carrasquillo then draws on empirical theology to hear from other living voices before constructing his own Pentecostal lived ecclesiology. This monograph makes a distinctive contribution to this specific topic and joins the growing number of informative studies devoted to the explorations of Pentecostal ecclesiology.

Wilmer Estrada-Carrasquillo (PhD, Asbury Theological Seminary) is Assistant Professor of Practical Theology and Director of the Center for Latino Studies at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN USA.
