Description

This novel is not modern but contemporary. The main theme of it is the mystery of human resurrection. Right from the 'popular' Preamble, which seems to have nothing to do with what follows, to the final section when the writer steps into the body of the novel and succeeds in substantially affecting one of his personal inventions, the shape of the novel is continually transformed. An accommodation of this theme cannot but confront certain philosophical dilemmas, such as the notion of a standard identity and the validity and ethic of suffering. Also the device of author and writer as two entities has been made use of for the sake of creative integrity. Doubtless there will be those who find this book heavy going, however the reward for persevering is not negligible.
