The objective of this work was to evaluate the prescription of antibiotics at the University Hospital of Bouaké. A survey of the medical and surgical specialty services of the CHU was conducted for 3 months in 2016. Data on antibiotic prescription was collected from the records and treatment sheets of hospitalized patients who had received antibiotic treatment. Our local data were: 1888 patients registered for hospitalization, 1232 patients were on antibiotics, an overall prescription rate of 65%. The frequency of prescription was variable in the services. A total of 1872 molecules of different therapeutic classes were prescribed. Bacteriologically documented infections represented 5.19%. In conclusion, the frequency of antibiotic prescription was high at the University Hospital of Bouaké.
