The term "placenta accreta" is often used in a general way to designate 3 anatomical varieties, depending on the degree of invasion of the villi: accreta vera, increta, percreta. Placenta accreta can be the cause of severe hemorrhage resulting in significant maternal mortality and morbidity. The management of placenta accreta involves two difficulties: its diagnosis with the help of ultrasound/doppler and/or MRI, and its adequate management of a possible hemorrhagic shock state and its harmful consequences.
