Commander Palmer convinces the Navy brass to give Kane a second chance. Dottie, John Kane's girlfriend, worries she could lose him in a second mishap at sea. Palmer's wife and the women weave the flags for the men, while Otis and other supporters build USS Iroquois in the bustling Yard. With his trusty dog, Wolf, at his side, Officer Kane takes compass in hand to lead the men.
