Description

This book begins with the ancient people in Mesopotamia determine that God created mankind in His image to live in the world of His creation and continues with stories leading up to Abraham. God's loving friendship with Abraham extended through the Jewish people to be the foundation of Jesus's ministry, which is the basis for Christianity. The book describes Christianity as it has become involved in worldly events to detriment of it support of Jesus' ministry. Growing up, my family moved frequently because of my father's work. In each new town we would join a church that often was a different denomination of our church in the previous town. When I was 30, I joined a small church that allowed all who came to join in the services and activities, without regard with who they were, where they were from, or their religious beliefs. It was a church alive with hope, joy, and fellowship. I graduation from the Ohio State University as a Civil Engineer and as a United States Air Force 2nd Lt. Between the Air Force and the Ohio Air National Guard, I served a combination of active and reserve duties for 28 years, and retiring as a Lt. Col. I also owned an engineering and land surveying company for 35 years and have retired from that work. This book comes from the different perspectives my civilian and military experiences have given me of Christianity and a recognition of how far Christianity has gotten away from God's simple instruction to live in His likeness. There has been a transformation of Christianity from believing in God's guidance to having standards, rituals, and theological dictates.
